CALL FOR PAPERS:
We invite submissions for presentations on any and all aspects of Canadian baseball history. Although some of the subject matter may have a London-area focus, this is by no means a requirement. We expect to hear about such diverse topics as early barnstorming in Canada, the umpiring career of Bob Emslie, the history of the Inter-County League, how and why baseball predated hockey amongst Quebec’s francophone population, and many more. Presentations should be 20-25 minutes in length, with an additional 5-10 minutes for questions and discussion. Please send a suggested title, and an abstract of 100-200 words, to Andrew North at email@example.com.
The conference registration fee is $70. This covers all presentations and discussion, continental breakfasts both days, a catered lunch on Saturday, and tours of both the London Museum Art Gallery and the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Please send an E-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org, or a cheque (made out to the Centre for Canadian Baseball Research) to 398 Queen St. E., P.O. Box 3305, St. Marys Ont. N4X 0A6.
A TIP OF THE CAP:
We are grateful for the assistance, financial and otherwise, of Tourism London and the London Department of Parks and Recreation. Their support has helped us secure a quality venue and catering while keeping registration fees reasonable.
